We got up yesterday feeling good and ready for the easy 500 miles to Spearfish,SD. One hour into the trip on the interstate 90 a large pothole unhooks our trailer...oh oh... Heidi mentions that the trailer is passing us on the left. We were going 70mph at the time. Those damn safety chains really work! So a bit of a blip in a smooth trip so far. 2 really nice tow truck guys showed up about 30 min after we located them using our blackberry's. They got us temporarily fixed and we followed them back to the town of Sioux Falls,SD. for some trailer fixes... We felt really lucky that this didnt turn into a major disaster and were ready to pay the piper.. 3 hours later and only $130 for repairs (unbelievable), we were back on the road. Our only regret is that we didnt take any pictures of the mess. During the repair time we did go to local kmart for a part to hook up to our dvd to enhance the sound.
Our next scheduled stop was a little more fun as we stopped at the world famous Wall,SD for a visit to Wall Drugs etc. Much to our suprise it was closed. We shot a few pics and then headed west to our final destination for the day (spearfish). As the sun set on our flatland travels we could start to see the peaks of the rockies ahead. Wednesday we will spend st pattys day in Deadwood and Sturgis visiting friends. Thursday we are off to Montana and the rockies and of course the are talking about snow.
I love it! Keep writing. Sorry about the trailer. No major damage?
