Here's JOHNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave has a new hobby! Thank God he has not started chopping down any of the doors ! If he starts to resemble Jack Nicholson...I may get concerned.  It stopped snowing but it's still a bit chilly.  I went to 'booty camp' this afternoon and met a bunch of people. It was a tough workout and after sitting in a car for almost 3 weeks I certainly needed it...I am sure I will be crippled over the next few days.  After the class a couple of the women asked if I wanted to go have a drink at the Sunrise Cafe (only bar that's open right now) which was really nice. I didn't want to leave Dave home alone with the axe so I told them I would go next time.  There was an earthquake yesterday - we didn't feel it but Dave just told me that we are in a very active earthquake area! No wild animal sightings yet..there were some tracks in the snow this morning, looked like maybe a wolf or a coyote?  Tomorrow we are going to the big city to open up a bank account..the closet bank is 40+ miles away...I have yet to see an ATM machine? Maybe we use animal pelts or something instead of cash? Well that's all for now...more to come.  Heidi and Dave.

  3. Hi Heidi! You don't know me, but I stumbled upon your blog while looking for other bloggers in Alaska. My name is Susan and I'm your neighbor to the northeast - in North Pole, AK. :) My husband and I spend a lot of time down on the peninsula in the summertime, as he is an avid fisherman. The crowds down there get out of control when the salmon runs. You're not going to believe how much the population swells, and the number of vehicles on the road. But such is life in AK in the summer. *grin*

By the way, I'm from PA originally too (Philly). My entire family is still there. My husband and I moved to the Fairbanks area in 2003 with the army. He has since retired, and we stayed. We love living here! I've been blogging about our adventures for almost 7 years now.

Enjoy getting settled in to your new home. Warm regards,

    Susan
